- Compensation: $60-70K salary + bonus based on profit

The Job
Our Hospitality Manager (otherwise known as a Restaurant Manager) creates the conditions for an exceptional guest experience, all while meeting Sea Cider’s financial targets. This person is a member of our Senior Management Team, reports to the CEO, and leads our Hospitality Department, managing all activities, resources, projects and personnel in the Department, and overseeing approximately 15 staff on the following teams: Tastings, Culinary, and Event Service. Performance is measured against Hospitality Dept net profit, guest reviews and staff performance.
The work week is generally 9:30am to 5:30pm, Wednesday through Sunday, and the budgeted salary is $60,000 to $70,000, depending on prior experience. An annual bonus based on net income is additional.

About Us
Sea Cider is a certified organic orchard near Victoria, BC that crafts award-winning cider from heirloom apples. About You
You excel at management, leadership and fostering a positive team culture. You have a gift for managing people, schedules, projects and budgets, all while providing guests with an exceptional experience. In addition you have:
- Education: Serving It Right required; Food Safe required. Post secondary degree or diploma in management or related field required.
- Vocational experience: at least three years as a Manager (e.g. Restaurant Manager), responsible for department planning, budgets, schedules, people and projects.
- Industry experience: At least five years of experience in hospitality/events or the food & beverage sector.
- People management: At least three years of experience in recruiting, training, scheduling, supervising and reviewing the performance of direct reports. A gift for creating a positive team culture while maintaining service standards and team focus.
- Communication skills: excellent written and verbal communication skills, a gift for diplomacy, and a proven track record in problem solving, resolving customer complaints successfully, and avoiding complaints in the first place!
- Project management: experience planning projects, a timeline and project deliverables.
- Financial management: experience managing labour and supply budgets, as well as implementing strategies to grow revenue and improve profitability.
- Technology & equipment: Highly proficient using common industry software, and an eagerness to learn new programs and upgrade systems to improve financial and service outcomes. Experience with standard food & beverage service equipment, arranging maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Personal aptitude: a high degree of professionalism and personal accountability for achieving targets. Curiosity, great listening skills, a gift for collaboration and an openness to feedback. A willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to get the job done and work “shoulder to shoulder” with colleagues. An interest in learning about cider!
- Work week available: Able to work full time hours year round. Willing to work occasional evenings to meet the needs of the business per Sea Cider’s lieu time policy.
- Physical requirements: Able to lift up to 25 kg several times daily (cases of cider, stacks of chairs, for example) and to work walking and standing up, indoors and outdoors, rain or shine, for hours at a time.
